On Sunday, March 30 at 5pm, you are invited to join the Men of Temple Beth Hillel and the Men of Temple Ahavat Shalom as we come together for a special joint Men's Seder. This special service and dinner, modeled after
the traditional Passover Seder, provides a comfortable and 'safe' space for our brotherhoods to explore and celebrate what it means to be a contemporary Jewish man. This year we will be using a special version of the haggadah that combines the MRJ Mens Seder with a haggadah developed by the Beth Hillel Brotherhood with a haggadah developed a member of MoTAS (click for PDF). The event will be held at Temple Ahavat Shalom, located at 18200 Rinaldi Place, Northridge CA 91326.
The menu will consist of traditional Passover foods as well as the following Passover dinner (menu subject to change):
- Hummus
- Garden salad
- Boneless chicken kabab (white meat)
- Lentil Stew
- Bbq tomatoes
- Roasted veggies
- Cherry rice
- Lentils rice with date and raisin
- Ice Cream for dessert
Dinner will be catered by Ali Baba Restaurant in Granada Hills.
MoTAS will be providing most ritual items: wine, grape juice, horseradish, hard boiled eggs, etc. We are doing a "cook off" for two items -- charoset and gefilte fish -- and invite members to "bring their best home assembled versions". We'll see whose is the favorite.
The cost of the meal is $40. You can pay at the door* or online, but must reserve your space through our Ticketleap Event Page.
